To Soar Like an Eagle

It feels like so many friends are struggling right now, trying to find their way through the storms of life. It’s hard to watch, hard to see them hurting.

The other day I read an article on the eagle and I jotted some notes down from it. Hopefully it will make sense to you without reading the whole thing.

They started with the verse from Isaiah 40:31 –but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Eagles: beauty, strength, vision, boldness.

Eagles have the ability to detect storms long before they actually break… rather then try and escape it like others, they position themselves to take advantage of the incoming winds that will eventually lift them above the storm.

What about us as Christians? Do we turn and run when we see a storm coming? Or do we, like the eagle, use the winds of the storm to rise to higher level of faith in God?

Eagles rely on the wind to rise above the storm because they can’t do so on their own strength.
We need to depend on God’s abilities to lift us above the storms and adversities in our life.
We need to view the storm as an ally rather then an enemy, take advantage of it.

Is. 40:31 Hope. Wait. Renew. Strength. Soar. Run. Not weary.

Strength is required for us to soar. We get that strength from an unfailing hope in the Lord.

When Life’s storms leave us weary and faint, God is our source. Through God we can soar like eagles and rise above our storms, reaching new heights of of faith.

Soar, my friends, don’t grow weary, don’t faint, fix your eyes on God for strength.

Be overcomers, with God’s power, no storm can hold us down.

  1. This is so good, Shannon! You said it well. In those days when we don’t always “feel” like overcomers, we have to rise above our feelings and speak the truth that God has said in His Word!!
