Party Time

My Mother in law has a birthday the end of this month and this year we’ve been getting together for brunch to celebrate our birthdays. I had a few ideas floating around in my head that I wanted to do and decided I better do it now while it’s still warm out. It was a perfect morning, weather wise. 60 degrees, a little sunshine here and there, a small breeze floating by, birds singing and lots of coffee.

Good company helped too.

 

We are in the (long) process of building a front porch. I really don’t mind that it’s a long process, at least we can access the front door now. So, finished porch or not, we had our brunch out there.

 

Why is it when you cook all these plans up in your head, they just don’t look quite as good on paper, or real life. It turned out ok, just not quite like I had envisioned.

Reagan helped me decorate, she had stuff propped all over the place.
How do you tell a little girl that it doesn’t quite look just right?
We left some of it and some of it I talked her out of. 🙂

Freida and Berneice helped bring food so it was quite simple to host.
We all ate and were fat and full then discussed dieting and wondered why in the world we just ate a big brunch when we all want to diet. 🙂 Who can turn down good food? 🙂

Berneice created these and they were as lovely as they look.

We had such a good time that it was 3 hours later before we realized it.

The Littles that are not in school yet.
We had a few unhappy school girls this morning! 🙂
They claim we always wait till they go to school to do fun things.
(so maybe we do!) 🙂

And the donut muncher. I think this was number 4 or 5.
You would think he never gets donuts.

We had such a good time I’m thinking MIL needs to have a birthday every month. 🙂
